Millard is a large suburban area located in southwest Omaha with a long history as an independent community before annexation. Today, it is one of the city’s most family-oriented areas, known for schools, parks, and residential development. Millard has its own commercial centers while remaining connected to the rest of Omaha through major roadways. Visitors often experience Millard as a quieter alternative to the urban core. The area reflects Omaha’s westward growth during the twentieth century. Millard continues to play a key role in the city’s suburban identity.
